We represent a community of growers
who are committed to sustainable practices,
have a deep respect for the land,
and who just might love flowers more than you do (!)
We are proud to bring their flowers to market.
Established in 2001 Arrowhead Dahlias is a small 3 acre family run specialty cut flower farm located in Platteville Colorado. We take great pride in producing quality fresh, seasonal and local blooms starting in May and continuing through September. We grow a wide variety of flowers, some of our favorites being cup & saucer, lisianthus and, of course, dahlias! Our love of nature and plants led us both to this profession and each and every day we enjoy watching the sheer joy fresh flowers bring to people’s faces!
BLUSH FLOWERS ON VINE
The flowers at Blush Flowers on Vine are sustainably grown on our small family farm by me (Sue) with a lot of help from my two teenage sons, and my husband in Fort Collins. In our 5th year of operation, we grow over 50 different species of focal and filler flowers, as well as interesting foliages and seed pods so that local designers can have the freshest and most interesting selections for their creations.
Chris Saenz is the founder and owner of Bombus Botanics, a farming endeavor dedicated to growing veggies and flowers for both people and pollinators. She has managed garden spaces around Denver for six seasons, and has spent the past two years stewarding an abundant half acre farm just south of the city. With a background in environmental law, she cares deeply about and advocates strongly for organic and sustainable growing practices. Being a part of the close-knit, local flower farming community has been an extremely rewarding experience thus far, and she can’t wait to share her field of blooms with CSA members and the Collective this year!
Denver Daylilies is run by Suzanne Thomas along with her twin sister, Shelley Thomas, and Shelley's eldest daughter, Chelsea Rose Thomas. Our gardens are spread across multiple yards in west Denver. Lifelong gardeners and Colorado natives, we love growing a wide variety of flowers. Discovering what's blooming in our gardens thrills us throughout the summer. Sharing the beauty of those flowers with other people is deeply satisfying. Besides selling cut flowers, we also sell plants at the South Pearl St. farmers market throughout the summer.
CHERRY FARM FLOWERS
FloraBee Flowers is a dream we have been growing for the past 5 years and we are so excited to be offering flowers to our Denver community starting in 2019! This year means big changes for us! Katie will be working with Big Green as a garden educator while also working with Aaron to provide flowers to our community. Aaron will be stepping away from his full time job to jump into building a flower farm that supports a healthy ecosystem, the community, and produces great blooms in the process!
We are committed to growing high quality flowers that are beautiful, unique, long lasting, and grown with integrity. It is important to us that our growing practices ensure that we leave our little piece of Earth better for those who will come after us. We want you to know that when you buy a bunch of flowers from FloraBee, you are taking home flowers grown without herbicides, pesticides, or synthetic fertilizers. So breathe deeply. Enjoy those floral scents. Explore the texture of the leaves. Share the experience with your loved ones and accept the call from your flowers to be rooted in the present or to enjoy the warm memories they evoke. Flowers have brought so much joy and beauty into our home over the years and we hope they will do the same for you!
LITTLE SEED FLOWER FARM
Hi Friends! My name is Becky and I, along with my husband own a small farm in Johnstown. My love for the country began when I was a child. My Dad used to take us kids to my grandparents' farm in South Dakota for the summer. They had a huge garden and orchard. We would spend hours picking (and eating) strawberries, peas, apples and tomatoes. As I grew up, my dream of owning my own farm wouldn't go away. My husband and I moved to Colorado and away from the city life six years ago. We purchased our farm and just recently started transforming it into a cut flower farm. I can't wait to share with you what I've grown!
Hi, my name is Alissa Joy Cockroft. I was born and raised here, in Northern Colorado, on our small family farm. When I was young, my parents started growing organic vegetables. Ever since, my six siblings and I have worked alongside them to grow a thriving family farm and business.
I grew up loving the country and the beauty of creation; more specifically, flowers! When I graduated high school, I decided to work on a flower farm about thirty minutes south of where we live. There, I learned about growing flowers, arranging bouquets, harvesting, and caring for specialty cut blooms. After working there for a summer, I decided, with encouragement from the owners and my family, to start my own flower business. So, in 2016, I began my journey as a flower farmer and started, what is now, MissAliss Blooms! I grow a wide variety of flowers which I sell in mixed bouquets at farmers markets and to my Flower Subscription members. My specialty and favorite part, is doing floral design work for weddings and events.
SOL Y SOMBRA
Sol y Sombra Farm and Florist was started in 2009, in beautiful Hygiene, CO. Located on two acres, Allison grows a variety of flowers, from perennials to annuals, and is adding roses this year. Sofia, her daughter, is always by her side helping plant and harvest all the stems available. Providing flowers for farmer’s markets and weddings, Allison never considers any day a bad day at work.
Village Farm is an organically run, semi-urban farm producing raspberries, strawberries, a rainbow of specialty pumpkins, and a large variety of wholesale flowers. We are a diverse family farm on a little more than 7 acres on the southwestern edge of Denver in Cherry Hills Village. We have been farming on this 100 year old pasture since 2015 and after taking the floret class in 2018 have expanded our growing pallet to include a broad wholesale flower selection. In 2018, we also added to our local fruit production which now includes a 3 acre orchard with apples, pears, plums and cherries, and a newly planted vineyard with several grape varieties. Our perennial beds include more than 50 varieties of peony and several varieties of woody greens and culinary herbs. We try to grow things that have a variety of markets and enjoy building skills and community through agricultural production in the city.
